Rogue One Trailer Remade in Fallout 4

Fallout 4 has proven to be one of the premiere games for modders, and one fan of the Star Wars universe demonstrates why with his recreation of a new trailer.

The Fallout 4 modding community has done it again. There seems to be no limit to what creative minds can do in Bethesda’s smash-hit RPG, whether it be bringing The Notorious B.I.G. to the Commonwealth Wastelandor letting gamers play as Dogmeat instead of the Sole Survivor. While many of these kinds of mods are quirky, fun, or downright strange, however, there is also the capacity to create some truly breathtaking works of art within the modding tools Bethesda has provided with its newest post-apocalyptic adventure. YouTuber UpIsNotJump is one such example, faithfully recreating famous or popular movie trailers using only the impressive world of Fallout 4 (and some helpful mods) to do so.

UpIsNotJump’s greatest triumph may be his most recent trailer remake. Between the sci-fi subterfuge, battles involving giant robots, and mixture of old world weaponry with high tech blasters, Rogue One seems like the perfect fit for the Fallout 4 universe, and UpIsNotJump seems to agree. Check out the video below to see just how incredible the Rogue One / Fallout 4 mash-up trailer really is.

UpIsNotJump’s trailer goes shot for shot with the original Rogue One video, and it’s hard not to be impressed by how accurate the Fallout 4 remake is. Whether it’s the various wardrobe choices worn by Jyn Erso over the course of the trailer or the samurai-esque stand-off between Donnie Yen’s character and various Stormtroopers, UpIsNotJump’s remake manages to faithfully reproduce them all without so much as missing a beat. Even when the current mods available were unable to recreate the AT ATs featured in the original trailer, UpIsNotJump lets some creativity and humor shine through, replacing them with a collection of Liberty Primesinstead.

The amount of detail that went into the Rogue One trailer remake is further evidence of just how committed the Fallout 4 community is to their game of choice. That’s good news for Bethesda, as the developer recently released a new Survival Mode in Fallout 4 in an effort to keep gamers engaged with the Commonwealth while the developer gears up for larger DLC releases later this year. It’s possible that some of that content has already leaked, too, as a player data mined information that appeared to pertain to the upcoming Far Harbor DLC– if that is the case, Bethesda will be happy to have modders like UpIsNotJump providing worthwhile distractions like the Rogue One trailer remake while the developer attempts to keep its remaining surprises a secret.
