‘Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’ Revealed in New Trailer

Many gamers were first introduced to the next entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise earlier this year under the moniker of Assassin’s Creed Victory .
. After a handful of leaked screenshotsshowcased some overviews of London, England, the new title was only briefly touched upon before appropriately disappearing into the shadows from whence it came. Several months later, Ubisoft is finally ready to give gamers a better look at the next major installment of its flagship series.
Ditching the codename, the next iteration of the longstanding IP is now known as Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and there are a number of new additions to the title that have made themselves known within the game’s debut trailer.
For starters, gamers will no longer be controlling one character – instead taking on the role of both Jacob and Evie Frye. The characters are twins, but they have distinct personalities that make them stand out from one another. While that’s all well and good, however, the setting itself is what appears to be one of the most intriguing aspects of the entire game.
Set during the Industrial Revolution of England in 1868, the world that fans were introduced to in Assassin’s Creed Unity has changed substantially in the 75 year gap that separates the two games. Carriages are prominent throughout the streets, factories have begun to emerge, and technology has improved by leaps and bounds – the latter of which appears to have brought forth a brand new tool for the franchise.
Known aptly as the “rope launcher,” this grappling hook of sorts should ensure that players are able to traverse the immense environment with relative ease. Hooking onto buildings and escaping from the clutches of baddies is one way to make use of the item, but its main purpose in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will be for traversal – as is implied within the game’s debut trailer.
Last, but certainly not least, are the carriages that can be found within the game. Players can witness Jacob hijack the horse-drawn vehicle in the brief glimpse of Syndicate and that looks to be a major form of traversal alongside the aforementioned rope launcher. While likely far from incognito whilst booting innocent drivers from their sole means of transportation, there’s little question that it should make for a very speedy option to get around the immense, British landscape.
