Nintendo announces plans to release an update for its ever-popular Super Mario Maker, and it will add five highly requested features to the game for free.
In the wake of Star Fox Zero ‘s delay, one of the biggest games Nintendo has released in the build up to the 2015 Holiday season is undoubtedly Super Mario Maker . While the game managed to impress many upon its release, there were a few missing items that fans were hoping to see added to the game in the near future. Fortunately, the Big N has opted to address these complaints with a forthcoming update.
Gamers the world over can look forward to receiving the freecontent update on November 4, 2015. While some of these additions seem trivial initially, one of the single biggest requests will be added in the form of a long-awaited checkpoint option. Nintendo has gone all out with the addition as well, ensuring that fans must be able to survive from the checkpoint area in order to avoid impossible courses from being made.
As previously noted, there are a total of five new features accompanying the update, and all of them are demonstrated in a brand new trailer that Ninty released to reveal the new info.
One of the issues we pointed our during our review of Super Mario Maker was that it didn’t feature checkpoints, so it’s nice to see that the Japanese gaming giant has sought to improve upon the title post-launch. Setting aside the more challenging version of Gnat Attack, all of the updates seem to be with makers in mind. Furthermore, it’s nice to see that individuals from Nintendo will be making their own levels and uploading them for players that enjoy the game’s platforming-centric challenges.
Following the announcement of Mario Kart 8 DLC, the Big N has been on point in terms of delivering downloadable content with its major releases. In the case of the company’s newest IP Splatoon , the game has continued to grow by leaps and boundsthrough updates that have been made for free. It’s hard to say if Super Mario Maker will see continued support for content down the line, but implementing some free goodies for existing customers that betters their experience is a nice little gesture from the company.
