There are some games that, despite publisher silence, are pretty much assumed to be in development.

Dead Space 3 For Pre-Order At South African Retailer

Dead Space 3 is one of them, and even though Electronic Arts has not formally announced anything, the game has gone up for pre-order at South African retailer BT Games.

BT Games, the same retailer that has been taking pre-orders for God of War 4 , unfortunately seems to have taken down the pre-order page for. The original page still has some information present, as it is listed as the “latest release in the Dead Space franchise” and is being published by… 2K Games? Yeah, that’s gotta be a mistake.

There’s also no pricing listed on the page, and any attempts to pre-order the game redirect to a page regarding the purchase of used titles. Looking up “ Dead Space 3″ with the site’s search engine also yields no result. Sounds like BT was either taking pre-orders on a game that doesn’t exist, or Electronic Artsforced them to take the page down. Interestingly enough, the pre-order page is for a PS3 title, so maybe we’ll end up seeing Dead Space 3 before the next generation arrives.

Unlike last week’s Crysis 3 leak, we doubt this story is going to end with EA announcing the game a few days later. Though if they did that, I would be really happy.

Dead Space 3 is said to be in development at Visceral Games, and will reportedly make use of DICE’s Frostbite 2 Engine. While the game has not been formally announced, there’s been plenty of news trickling down to hint at another entry in the franchise. Dead Space fans everywhere are certainly hoping for the return of their favorite engineer, as at this point, seeing Issac shoot some hoopsjust isn’t cutting it.

Ranters, what do you think? Are we going to be seeing Dead Space 3 anytime soon, or was it all just a mistake on BT’s end?

Dead Space 3 is rumored to be in development, possibly for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
