At the beginning of last month a major collection of spoilery details were released for Black Ops 2 that included information about everything from the game’s story beats to multiplayer killstreaks and perks .
. With nothing in the way of confirmation about these pieces of information, though, it seemed unclear that any or all of it was legitimate.
However, new details about the Black Ops 2 multiplayer maps has once again leaked online, and confirmed the names of each arena, along with a giving a brief description of each. All of those maps featured in the leaked information are once again described in this post, along with a few new ones as well.
Boasting potentially 14 maps in total (not including the Nuketown 2025 pre-order bonus), Black Ops 2 promises to be as robust an offering as the Call of Duty series has seen yet. The maps themselves run the gamut from futuristic Supercarrier to war torn Los Angeles, each delivering a new engaging arena for players to do battle in.
But ultimately it will be these maps’ design that determines their success. Unfortunately, since this is just a brief overview (an unconfirmed one at that) there isn’t much to substantiate whether or not these maps will work in Black Ops 2 ‘s new multiplayer.
Check out the full list of rumored Black Ops 2 maps below:

“Overflow”

“Village”
“Border town between China and Kyrgyzstan. Classic engagements and destinations to fight over.”
Some of the new changes to the map list include the elimination of the U.S.S. Barack Obama as a foil, which is said to be a major set piece in the Black Ops 2 single player campaign. The list that leaked earlier said not only a section of the campaign would feature the U.S.S. Obama, but the map ‘Carrier’ would as well. However, as this updated description tells us that is no longer the case.
Some of the new maps reportedly in the fold (when compared to the leaked list) are Express, Meltdown, Raid, Socotra, and Village — bringing the known tally up to 14 maps. Obviously COD fans want the most out of their yearly iteration, but when only 11 maps leaked it called into question how focused developer Treyarchmight be on this year’s multiplayer.
Thankfully, a few more maps are supposedly on the way, giving plenty of reason to Prestige several times over. With Black Ops 2 a little under two months away, fans can expect official details about each map, and hopefully a few screenshots, some time soon.
What do you think of the rumored Black Ops 2 maps? Which one do you think will be your favorite?
