NetherRealm Studios shows off the various attacks and fatalities available to the Alien Xenomorph in the upcoming Kombat Pack 2 DLC for Mortal Kombat X .
Even though Mortal Kombat X has already released all the contents promised in its season pass, NetherRealm is looking to keep the game relevant in 2016 with Kombat Pack 2. One of the new characters headlining this next wave of DLC for the game is the Alien Xenomorph from the Alien franchise, and now we’ve been given a closer look at how the creature plays.
As many probably expected, the Alien inutilizes its tail in much of its striking game and a number of little tweaks depending on the variation. In terms of grappling, the developers have described the Alien’s moves as “Greco-Roman style,” which, combined with its powerful tail and ability to spit acid, makes the creature an especially formidable opponent.
Players can see Alien in action for themselves thanks to an archive of a recent Twitch presentation of the game that was hosted by NetherRealm Studios. The Twitch video also offers a look at one of Alien’s fatalities, in which the Queen Xenomorph impales its opponent with its tail and then rips them in half with its claws. The creature’s X-Ray move is also pretty brutal, with the Alien stabbing its opponent numerous times in the torso, then breaking their neck by slamming them hard on the ground with its tail.

Overall, it looks like NetherRealm has managed to create a faithful recreation of the iconic character, which should please fans of the franchise. Even so, there are likely still those that will complain about Alien being in Mortal Kombat X at all, as some have voiced their disapproval of Mortal Kombat X relying so heavily on guest characters.
While some may complain about the inclusion of guest stars like Alien in Mortal Kombat X , it’s hard to deny the appeal of controlling some of Hollywood’s most iconic brutes in a fighting game. Plus, with the addition of Alien to the MKX roster, fans will be able to experience Alien’s classic feud with Predatoryet again.
With the likes of Alien, Predator, Leatherface, and Jason Voorhees on the roster, Mortal Kombat X has embraced the idea of adding guest stars based on horror icons. If Mortal Kombat X ‘s$20 Kombat Pack 2proves lucrative enough, don’t be surprised to see NetherRealm announce even more guest characters for future DLC, or perhaps even a spin-off game dedicated entirely to horror film characters.
What do you think of Alien being in Mortal Kombat X ? Do you think it is a good addition to the roster, or would you rather see more classic Mortal Kombat fighters return instead? Leave us your thoughts on the Alien Xenomorph and Mortal Kombat X in the comments below.
Mortal Kombat X is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
