It was announced today by Bethesda that id Software’s long-awaited DOOM game will be released for PS4, XBOX ONE, and PC on May 13 th .
. Bethesda also announced that there will be an open beta of the game before launch, although no specific date has been announced yet. Anyone who preordered Bethesda’s Wolfenstein: The New Order will be able to access the beta when it releases.
Along with the release date, Bethesda announced a collector’s edition of the game that will go for $120. This edition of the game will include a 12-inch statue of the game’s signature enemy, the Revenant, along with a steel case for the game. The statue comes with an “LED-lit base with internal slow-spinning turbine,” and it was modeled from the games actual 3-D model, so there is some high-quality work put into this statue.
Bethesda also announced some other exclusive content for those who pre-order the standard or collector’s editions of the game. Those who pre-order will get the Demon Multiplayer Pack which contains a unique demon armor set with three skin variants, six metallic paint colors and three id logo patterns for weapons and armor, plus six Hack Modules- one-time consumable items that can give you an edge in multiplayer matches. It’s a pretty good deal to customize your character and give you a little boost right when the game comes out.
