, Sony’s premium online service for gamers, is known for many things, including the unfortunate track record of hiccups, issues, and DDOS attacks. For all of the PlayStation 4’s success, including outselling Xbox One for all but a few months since its launch, the platform’s subscription servicecontinues to be a black spot for Sony and the console.

Gamers have requested numerous changes and additions to the service since the PlayStation 4 launched, most of which have fallen on deaf ears. Now, in an effort to encourage Sony to make the requested changes, some gamers have come together and created a campaign they’re calling “#BetterPSN”.

The campaign supporters have taken to Reddit and Twitter to share their desires and gather support, and have also created a websiteto act as a hub for their campaign. According to the site, the folks behind the campaign have asked their supporters to vote on the changes they want and make their voices heard.

“Users have voted on this site and called out those features for quite some time. We really want Sony to listen and enhance their network. We all love Sony and are passionate about our hobby. Let’s make this!”

Additionally, the site touts the top four most-voted requests from Sony. At the moment of writing, the top four changes are: Online/offline (invisibility) status change Enhanced user profile page showing favorite games, screenshots/recordings, game wishlist, deeper activity sections (game statistics) Continuous trophy syncing Better friends list functionality with nicknames, grouping by categories (games, relationship), and VIP tags tied to the notification system

Sonyhas yet to respond to the requests, though it’s unknown if the company’s executives are yet aware of the campaign. However, at the rate by which the campaign is growing, it won’t be long before Sony learns of the requested changes – at which point gamers will see how interested Sony is in making the changes, or if it will instead ignore the campaign effort.

Hopefully the gaming giant will decide to make the requested changes, or at least respond to the campaign supporters. If they choose to ignore the campaign, it’s possible gamers will respond with vocal disapproval, and possibly boycotts in some form or another. It’s also possible tech-savvy gamers may decide to hit PSN with another DDOS attackin an effort to grab Sony’s attention.

It’ll be interesting to see how Sony responds, and how it affects the PlayStation gaming community.
