One incredibly skillful Dark Souls 3 player finishes the most recent entry in From Software’s notoriously difficult action-RPG franchise in under 2 hours.

Following one Dark Souls 3 fan’s recent feat of beating the game’s first boss using only fists, a Korean player has now defeated From Software’s title entirely, and has set a brand new world record completion time for the action-RPG in the process. According to the gamer’s YouTube handle, his name is Jung Ho Min, and he has been recording his speedruns ever since‘s release in the East last month, with the latest playthrough clocking in at about 1 hour and 56 minutes.

Taking into consideration the fact that most, if not all of the entries in the Dark Souls franchise are typically deemed to be extremely challenging, Jung Ho Min’s accomplishment is quite impressive. Of course, with him having completed the game so quickly, it’s obvious that his mind wasn’t geared toward obtaining any of the action-RPG’s trophies or achievementsat all.

As seen in the video below, Jung Ho Min’s conquering of Dark Souls 3 in under 2 hours is definitely spectacular, but his speedrun isn’t without some workarounds. After all, the YouTuber calls the world record time an “any percent” playthrough, thus allowing him to skip bosses and enemies to make it to the end of the game in such a rapid manner. With that in mind, fans can watch all of the gameplay involved in the triumph below, but be forewarned, as it contains plenty of spoilers.

Although Dark Souls 3 has yet to make its way to a worldwide release just yet, other fans of the game outside of Japan can still try to best Jung Ho Min’s run, as Xbox One gamers can play nowby downloading the title by way of a region loophole. However, it’s important to note that Dark Souls 3 ‘s publisher Bandai Namco pleads fans to not play the international version, for it’s missing a lot of content such as some multiplayer gameplay and optimization features. Apparently, those gamers who wait until its official launch around the globe will have a better experience, as developers are set to provide all the title has to offer with its day one patch.

At any rate, with Dark Souls 3 ‘s director Hidetaka Miyazaki saying that the latest entry in the franchise could be the end of the series, as From Software desires to move on to different projects, it’s a safe bet that most fans will want to snatch up the title and take their time with it. Nevertheless, there will always be those players like Jung Ho Min who simply take a different approach to enjoying a game, by putting themselves through the wringer, and then doing so again and again to get better.

What do you think about Jung Ho Min’s speedrun of Dark Souls 3 ? Do you believe there’s anyone else out there who can tackle it even more quickly? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
