The Division Update 1.1 Patch Notes Released

Ubisoft Massive releases the patch notes for the forthcoming Incursions update in The Division , revealing new gameplay features, changes, and bug fixes.

Following yesterday’s weekly server maintenance for The Division , developers for the wildly popular third-person shooter have put out notes for Update 1.1, which is the title’s first major patch that’s set to include Incursions — that is, the game’s first version of a raid— Supply Drops for the Dark Zone, and much more on April 12, all of which is detailed in full on the next page. The most important alteration being brought about with the patch, though, is arguably the major increase in costs for converting crafting materials and crafting High-End weapons and gear, in addition to the deconstruction yield for Green and Gold items resulting in only one item instead of two.

Bearing this in mind, a lot of would-be Agents will more than likely begin crafting up a storm before the forthcoming patch fortakes effect next week. As a matter of fact, Ubisoft’s decision to enact a crafting nerf in its action-MMO is not being taken very well by the game’s community, as evidenced in the title’s official subreddit.

After encountering the patch notes, many fans of The Division are complaining that the developers’ upcoming changes to the crafting system have the potential for even more unpopular tweaks to the game’s formula to be implemented in the long run. As it happens, a lot of players are even going as far as to say that the increase in costs for crafting materials shows The Division developers are shifting away from the initial promise to set the game apart from Destiny , which made similar mistakes in the past.

However, there are a few fans of The Division looking at the crafting nerf as a positive change, anticipating that Massive Entertainment is attempting to drive more traffic toward Incursions so Agents will begin taking part in the end game content and activitiesas the main way to get High-End gear. Of course, whether or not that’s the actual case remains to be seen.

For a lot of players, one of their top grievances with The Division stems from the difficulty of crafting High-End items just to survive in the Dark Zone, so it’s odd to see developers making it harder for fans to obtain them through the system. More often than not, most of the materials received from killing enemies results in wares that go on to get dismantled, and with no mention of a buff in High-End item drops, it’s possible that Agents will end up having to farm for an inordinate amount of time just to get good gear, which does not sound enjoyable in the slightest.

What do you think about the crafting changes being brought about in The Division ‘s Update 1.1? Will you be one of the many players converting your Agent’s assets before the big patch next week, or is the adjustment something that will deter you from playing altogether? The Division is out now and is available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
