series is often seen as one of the most important and popular franchises in the open world sandbox sub-genre of gaming. Each of the games in the series has taken bigger and better steps into mind-blowing action, featuring ludicrous gameplay that most other action-focused games can only dream of. Even huge titles such as GTA 5 have seen inspiration in Just Cause , with savvy modders creating the ability to use the famous Just Cause 2 grappling hookin-game.
So, of course, it was no surprise thatwas set to become a highly anticipated title for the new generation of consoles. This year saw the reveal of an exciting and breathtaking gameplay trailer, featuring fiery explosions and death-defying aerial stunts. Meanwhile, Square Enix also revealed the game’s artwork, ripe with the gung-ho attitude that the series is known for.
Therefore, Just Cause 3 was always going to play a major role for Square Enix when it came to the publisher’s E3 2015 press conference. Indeed, the Avalanche Studios-developed title kicked off proceedings, yet again rocking up with some excellent action scenes. The open-world sandbox game was also given a finite release date at last, with Square Enix revealing that the title would be set to launch for PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on December 1, 2015 in North America.
The trailer on show gave further details on just how players will be able to unleash chaos as Rico Rodriguez, as the all-action star returns to his mother’s homeland in the Mediterranean. It looks as though the environmental destruction is going to set the bar incredibly high in comparison to previous titles, as Rico Rodriguez takes down huge bridges and multiple aerial vehicles, all in the name of toppling a dangerous dictator.
Players will find it easier to get around the island, too, as gamers will now have a brand new wingsuit, giving further control whilst travelling in the air. Meanwhile, the series’ iconic grappling hook will get a new manual retract function and multiple grapple tethers, which is bound to cause some in-game ingenuity in combat. Players will be able to attach enemy soldiers to other items, including the likes of explosive fuel canisters and moving trucks. Meanwhile, taking down checkpoints is made all-the-easier, with the ability to slingshot objects and construct wrecking balls for added destruction.
