The return of the original Ratchet and Clank was initially revealed at E3 2014, to much fanfare. Since then, fans of the franchise have been wowed by plenty of trailers, including an initial gameplay trailerthat hit last year. Among the community, there was a strong hope that the remake would help return the franchise to glory.

It’s not all been plain sailing, however. After all, the title suffered from a delaydue to Insomniac wishing to hold back the release date of the game to coincide with the launch of the duo’s first movie performance. With the movie set to release on April 29, it gives players a good amount of time to get back into the Ratchet and Clank mood, even though the feature film itself may have a few deviations from the source material.

It remains to be seen just how successful the movie and remake will prove to be, but early reports of the game suggest that it will impress fans of the franchise. What’s more, it seems as though the time is definitely right for the return of the 3D platformer.
